Water Resource Agency, MOEA delegation participate in Singapore International Water Week for reclaimed water

Singapore International Water Week started on 9th July, CDRI arranged the exhibition and led by Water Resource Agency, MOEA, the delegation is expected to participate in activities such as the Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention, Water Expo and Business Forum, and expect to bring more business development opportunities to Taiwanese companies.

The Singapore International Water Week is held every two years, it is a world-class water exhibition. It attracts more than a hundred countries and near a thousand international vendors to participate each time. In 2016, it contributed to transactions that worth $15.2 billion. This time the delegation arranged Taiwanese companies to meet with the Singaporean manufacturer Keppel Group, and visit the floating solar panels (Solar PV) and BEWG to understand the development of water conservancy industry in Singapore and further discuss various cooperation opportunities. The Taiwan Water Conservancy Industry Technology Sharing Conference is also held in the exhibition. Through discussions and exchanges with manufacturers from different countries, Taiwan's high-end technology can have better visibility on the international stage.

Mr Zhang, head Planning Div. of the Water Resources Agency, said that the value chain of Taiwan's water conservancy industry is complete, especially the industrial reclaimed water industry is being conducted with a number of front-end technologies. With the theme “Water Treatment” of the Singapore's International Water Week, this exhibition is based on the “High-tech Industry Advanced Process Reclaimed Water Treatment” and “Fortune from Smart Water” to plan a new vision for the future of the reclaimed water industry.  Through public recruitment, companies with competitive high-end processing technologies, including BIO-NET biological water treatment technology, high-end capacitor deionization (CDI) energy-saving water purification technology, tubular thin film distillation and high-priced metal recycling of liquid support film etc. are invited. At the application end, Taiwan's ICT and IoT technologies are integrated, applying cloud for water quality monitoring and electronic water meters and other technical services. Together these suppliers consist the delegation team for the Water Expo. At the opening of the exhibition on 9th , the delegation received inquiries from manufacturers from all over the world, which shows Taiwan’s high-end industrial reclaimed water treatment is internationally competitive.

Taiwan's reclaimed water industry has been developed for many years with the needs of the high-end semiconductor industry, and has a complete set of solutions for high-end in-plant water regeneration. In the future, it may be combined with the advantages of Taiwan's IoT, and create business opportunities for the water industry's supply chain. On the other hand, officials of the Water Resources Agency will share Taiwan's experience in renewable water development and operation management, as well as the water resource management techniques in the SIWW meeting.

CDRI pointed out that they arranged the exhibition with the expectation of not only participating in various important international water conferences, but also hopes to further exchange water resources and reclaim water technologies through negotiations between Taiwanese companies and relevant institutions in Singapore. To create more business cooperation models as an important foundation for economic development for the promotion of the new southbound movement of Taiwan's water resource industry.
