    Creating innovative business models with circular water resources economy

      Commerce Development Research Institute conducted the "Smart Water Management and Reclaimed Water Industry Development Environment Cultivation and Market Motivating Project", today (6th) to 7th.  Numerous of experts from foreign or domestic industry, academic units and representatives from central and local governments are invited to participate in the "International Conference on Circular Water Resources Economy - Innovative Operation and Value Creating Model" today.

      CDRI pointed out that circular economy is a promising economic system. Through the continuous recycling of materials, a virtuous circle of "resources, products, and renewable resources" can be formed, which creates a new economic model that takes environment and development into consideration, and is also an important development direction for environmental sustainability. Circular water economic model is critical for Taiwan on the usage of limited water resources to achieve a stable water supply. Through the conference, CDRI will help domestic water conservancy industry to have a deeper understanding on the topic, and to further explore the related business opportunities between the circular economy and the southward countries.

      Experts from Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia are invited to share the development of the water environment and technology in the south Asian countries. The special guests participated including Dr. Eddy Setiadi Soedjono from the Department of Environmental Engineering, ITS University, Surabaya, Indonesia, and technician Arkar Min from MWS Aqua Solution in Myanmar., Dr. Prasert Makkaew of the Public Health College of Walailak University, Thailand, and Jeffry Yew, founder of Eutopos Berhand, Malaysia. It is hoped that this meeting will enable the Southern countries to have an understanding on Taiwan's experience in integrating technology and equipment the for water industry. Taiwan may provide its technique base on their experience in the water cycle economy and help other countries to build a circular economy system and establish an excellent foundation to enhance the efficiency of water usage and environmental conservation so that economic growth and ecological environment can coexist. Another essential purpose of the event is to create market value for the competitive water conservancy technology through successful business models and implement a specific profit model to create a variety of communication effects and to activate the industry.

      The host of the event, vice president Champion Wang of CDRI explained that Taiwan has a complete water industry chain, in line with the emerging demand for Taiwan's reclaimed water, it has developed a series of solutions for high-end water regeneration in the factory. With Taiwan's advantages in the IoT and the newly developed energy-saving reclaimed water equipment and the help of foreign business alliances to cooperate with Taiwanese people in the business to enter Southeast Asia and other overseas markets, we may seize the opportunities of water recycling economy.
