    Keep Talent and Improve the Competitiveness of Enterprises

    Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) held today on 26th an operating lecture at the Sun Yun-Suan Memorial Museum and the theme of the event was "Keep Talent and Improve the Competitiveness of Enterprises".     Chairman of CDRI, Dr. Tien-Tsair Hsu said that business owners need to grasp the new trend of its industry, have the means to apply new technology, and find new direction: "talent" is a huge factor; Deputy General Manager from 1111 Job Bank Mr. Qi-Sheng He indicated “the recruitment is not the only responsibility for HR, HR’s job is not just in recruitment” and branding of the employer is a major consideration for young people nowadays in job hunting, adding talents outflow is getting worse, in result many talents went to China. For attracting future talents in Taiwan, Mr. Qi-Sheng He suggested the enterprises with four directions: salary, benefit, corporate culture and peer relations; whether in providing meals, better salary, bonus for long-term service, etc., above are key factors for attracting and keeping talents.

    Mr. Qi-Sheng He further shared his own experience working at TVBS, during that time there were other television stations poaching him and he did have the idea of ​​leaving, but not after his manager’s tender and “heart” to “heart” talk, he remembered all the efforts he put in the job, then quickly gave up the idea and continue to work hard as before. After what happened, his manager would often take the initiative of asking him to play golf or dinner, all these little gestures would make him feel like family. After someone’s recognition, of course, one will work harder. In fact, in terms of investing cost, should be focus on investing “heart” to “heart”.

    Mr. He further pointed out that to enhance Taiwan's competitiveness globally and help young people out of the low-paid predicament, this requires the efforts of government, enterprise and labor altogether. Vice President of CDRI Dr. Hwang-Jen Chang pointed out the importance for business in search and keep talents, friendly working environment and forwarded planning vision.
