CDRI presents the “Second Generation of Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Development Program”, the first

Sustainable corporate development demands training of successors for established enterprises in 2015. These successors are generally the 2nd generation of the business founders. For this reason, the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) specifically presents the “Second Generation of Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Development Program” in a small class environment for the training of corporate elites with “advanced leadership” as the focus of the program. The program will be unveiled with the distinctive feature of “Learning from Corporate Leaders” and starts from today (13th). Chairman Hsu Chung-Jen and President Hsieh Lung-Fa of CDRI addressed the opening ceremony. This program brings together the forces of CDRI in research and the experience of tutors and on-site visits of the enterprises to help trainees lay down a solid foundation in the succession of business.

Business operations should be aligned with the change in the environment and customer needs. The focus on core values of the enterprises is far more important. With the integration of eCommerce and IoT applications, value can be extended without boundary, said Hsu Chung-Jen. He also reminded entrepreneurs of the importance of focus and choice on core business, which will enable better success.

Emperor Taizhong of the Tang Dynasty once said that it is difficult to start an enterprise but it is even more difficult to keep the enterprise running, Hsieh Lung-Fa said. The second generation of entrepreneurs has to carry on the operation founded by the older generation. It is necessary for them to consider the risk confronting the business in the new era. Through perpetual learning and the accumulation of confidence, they could reduce risk and uncertainty. Through the training of the 2nd generation, succession of the established enterprises will not be a problem

The “Second Generation of Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Development Program” covers courses in leadership and decision-making, analysis of success and failure in succession, innovative business model, growth strategy, cross-border eCommerce, and advanced course in interpersonal management in business operation to allow for the trainees to have a deep understanding of all the practical work in business operation. Well-known figures in the corporate world, including President Hsieh Lung-Fa and Vice President Wang Chien-pin of CDRI, President Chang Kuang-cheng of Christian Chung Yuan University will be invited to present lectures in business operation.

CDRI also arranged the “Learning from Corporate Leaders” course for the first time where Chairman Hsu Chung-Jen of CDRI and Mr. Lin Chi-chen, the founder of AppWorks to coach the trainees in person. Trainees can learn from them through participation in their routine management activities and learn from them the essence and wisdom of business management.

The trainees in this program are from small and medium enterprises of Taiwan. At the completion of the program, a club will be formed by these 2nd generation entrepreneurs. We hope the trainees can voluntarily engage in different kinds of learning and social gathering for sharing and exchange. Through the learning from the forerunners in the program, they can share the experience with one another in succession of the business. CDRI will also assist the exchanges among different industries to yield the effect of a joint fleet of different enterprises so as to optimize the purpose and results of the program.
