Commerce Development Research Institution linking with think tank in South Korea to expand the inter

The Commerce Development Research Institution (CDRI) has been striving to connect with international think tanks and exchange research results. After visiting a Japanese think tank and signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last year (2015), CDRI delegation visited South Korea this year. The Vice President of CDRI Wang, Jian-Bin led the delegation that included Director General Huang, Chao-Jen of Business Development and Policy Research Division, Researcher Wu, Jia-Lun of Business Model Innovation Research Division, and Huang, Wen-Wei of Comprehensive Programming Division to visit Sejong Metropolitan Autonomous City and Seoul. The delegation also visited think tanks and educational units such as Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET), Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), Graduate School of International Studies, Seoul National University (GSIS), and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and conducted exchanges, as well as striving for the promotion of bilateral cooperation. Korean think tanks are expected to send researchers to CDRI for short-term research.

CDRI, KIET, and KIEP are planning the cooperation of exchanging and sharing research results, mutually inviting researchers to participate in international seminars, recommending appropriate corporations to visit, conducting joint research on cooperation topics between Taiwan and South Korea, or mutually sending researchers. During this visit, Korean think tanks expressed their willingness to send researchers to CDRI, which CDRI is optimistic to see. CDRI hopes that both parties can continue to conduct research exchange and sharing.

Vice President Wang, Jian-Bin indicated that CDRI has been striving to promote the internationalization of the service industry. A CDRI delegation already visited Japanese think tanks in 2015 and signed an MOU with IDE-JETRO. IDE-JETRO sent researchers to CDRI to conduct a two-year research study, which is the first step of international exchange. CDRI is hoping to sign MOUs with Korean think tanks, promote international cooperation and maintain close cooperation relationships with other think tanks.
