    Joint Effort of CDRI and D&B to Boost Export Sale for SMEs of Taiwan

    The Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs (BOFT of MOEA) seeks to buttress the export sales for the small and medium enterprises (SME) in 2015 by launching the (Customized Service Planning for the Exports of SME Program). Seven major professional institutions that are familiar with the government resources of expansion were commissioned. They are Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI), Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Chinese Management Association, Taiwan Textile Federation, Corporate Synergy Development Center, Green Trade Project Office (GTPO), and The Export-Import Bank of the Republic of China. They will act as the “export tutors” by using the one-toe-one customized consulting service to help the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to prepare the new export equation.

    Dun and Bradstreet (D&B), a company listed at NYSE, is professional firm providing information on the enterprises and business, is engaged in a strategic alliance with CDRI. D&B organized the “2015 SME Elite Contest” yesterday (15), and officially formed the alliance with the “SME Export Customized Service Program”. The two sides hope to yield the synergy of1+1>2. The consulting services of the industry (D&B), the government (MOEA), and the academic circle (CDRI), and the integration of the international trade development resources will help to create the “Export Value Network” that provide momentum for the SMEs in export.

    The co-principal of the Good Quality and Low Price Newly Emerged Market Program of CDRI, Mr. Tseng Chi-Cheng, suggested that the recent “SME Elite “Contest” will help to find out business firms that have the momentum and potential for further development. With the use of the “SME Export Customized Service”, which includes diagnosis of export, proactive feedback, on-site visit, and customized navigation, the program can help the SMEs to assess their capacity in export and the demand thereby government resources in various forms, such as consultation and supervision, marketing promotion, human resources training, and subsidy could help the SMEs of Taiwan to utilize government development resources for export efficiently and effectively. These will speed up export. BOFT also has a number of tools for helping the business in export trade. Business opportunity is everywhere as long as the business owners are willing to get out from their comfort zone and dare to challenge the newly emerged market!
