    CDRI holds the 3rd Cross-Straits Business and Service Cooperation Development Conference

    Representatives from industry, government, and academic circles convened to probe new opportunities for the development of the service sector on both sides of the straits.

    Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) and the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFCOM) jointly held the “3rd Cross-Straits Business and Service Cooperation Development Conference” at B2 of the Taipei Sheraton Hotel on June 16. There were more than 240 representatives from industry, government and academic circles attending the conference. They all hoped to provide the platform for the government agencies, think tanks and academic research units, business service providers on both sides of the straits for exchange and discussion. The focus was the new direction for the development of service industry across the straits.

    The Honorary Director of the Straits Economics & Cultural Interchange Association, Mr. Fang Aiqing, led the delegation to Taiwan. The delegation members are academic experts and industry professionals, such as the MOFCOM, HNA Group, Tianbao Holdings of Tianjin, and Beijing International Financing and Leasing Corp. Shen Rong-Chin, Executive Director of CDRI, and Hsu Chung-Jen, Chairman of CDRI in Taiwan, warmly received them. This occasion helps to reinforce the mutual understanding of the business service sector across the straits, and create better opportunity for the cooperation and higher value for the business service sectors on both sides.

    The gravity of this conference is the dialogue and exchange among the industries, including the topics of chain stores and franchising, trade and logistics, leasing, business service development policies. The “General Chamber of Commerce of the ROC”, “Chinese Non-Store Retailer Association”, “Taiwan Association of Logistics Management”, “The Taipei Leasing Association”, “Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, Taiwan” participated and co-organized the event. Through direct dialogue, they hope to face the actual problem confronting the development of business and help to bring better opportunity for cooperation, and make improvement for joint development of the business service market across the straits.

    Business service across the straits has developed very quickly and that dictates the advocacy of the exchange of business service sector across the straits for mutual understanding of the innovative development and mode of cooperation in business service at present. Through the “Cross-Straits Business and Service Cooperation Development Conference”, cooperation in business service across the straits will the promising and both sides will be the winners.
