    CDRI Continues “The Industry Promotion Alliance” and Conducts The On-Site Survey On The Premises Of

    Since the Commerce Development Research Institute was incorporated, it has been dedicated to upgrading competitiveness of the service industry of Taiwan. It worked hard to promote the globalization of the service industry in Taiwan, and probed into new and innovative business models for suppliers to create competitive strength. Considering that the concepts concerning combined fleet-organized industrial alliance were well received by various sectors, the Institute will continue to develop the concept, actively guide enterprises’ international marketing layout strategies and help enterprises develop their overseas channels.

    Led by Chairman of the Institute, Hsu Chung-Jen, the suppliers paid a visit to and exchanged with Dennis Group in Zhenzhou, China for two days as of January 27. The participating suppliers were mostly owners of chain stores and franchisers in Taiwan, including Wu Hua Ma, Chia Ba Er, ERG Food Co., Ltd. (Ergeat), CoCo-Tea, Ichido and Laya, and others.

    Dennis Department Store, a Taiwan-based enterprise, is owned by Taiwan Dunray Group and it is one of the test retail points for the two Taiwan-based department stores chosen by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China throughout the nation. It opened its first department store premises in Zhenzhou on November 16, 1997. So far, it has become a retail group engaged in the business lines covering department store, mall, convenient store and logistics, owning more than 150 stores throughout Henan Province and has become the largest chain department store brand in Henan Province.

    Chairman of the Institute, Hsu Chung-Jen, also mentioned that the visit and exchange to share thoughts would be helpful for Taiwanese businessmen to launch into the chain store market in China. Dennis Department Store in Zhenzhou demonstrates one of the successful examples about the Taiwan-based chain franchising in Mainland China.
